Dontcha love that motormouth Alan Grayson?

On Tuesday, from the House floor it was:

Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., warned Americans that “Republicans want you to die quickly” during an after-hours House floor speech Tuesday night.

His remarks, which drew angry and immediate calls for an apology from Republicans, were highlighted by a sign reading “The Republican Health Care Plan: Die Quickly.”

And on Wednesday, also from the House floor, it was:

I would like to apologize and here’s why. according to this study, health insurance and mortality in adults which was published two weeks, 44,000 Americans die every year because they have no health insurance.

I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven’t voted sooner to end this holocaust in America.

Politico summed it up in one word:

Oy!

Vids of both Grayson performances can be viewed here and here. And I’m betting they’ll be viewed quite a bit when Grayson runs for reelection next year.

And about those 44,000 dead: According to the Centers for Disease Control, 2,448,017 Americans died in 2008 from all causes. So you could say that more people died who had health insurance than those who didn’t. Like maybe 2,404,017 more people.
