The state of New Jersey has passed legislation to join several other states in kowtowing to the Obama Administration by implementing a statewide exchange. These federally-regulated "exchanges" will replace the individual market in health care with crony collusion between insurance companies and bureaucrats.
And Governor Chris Christie only has 24 hours to veto this plan.
Unfortunately, according to several reports, Governor Christie has been all over the map in what he says are his intentions. And despite being asked to join his fellow Republican governors in joining the legal challenge to ObamaCare, he didn’t. So it is CRITICAL that he hear from you today, demanding an UNCONDITIONAL VETO (not one that pretends to be a veto temporarily).
Please call the Governor's office immediately at 609-292-6000 and tell Gov. Christie to walk his talk and stand up against the federal takeover of health care.
States shouldn't waste money preparing and launching potentially unconstitutional provisions of the health law.
While some have argued that states should launch their own exchanges in order to mitigate ObamaCare's effects, these compliant states will be disappointed when they find they've only aided and abetted a federal top-down takeover.
ObamaCare says: 'An Exchange may not establish rules that conflict with or prevent the application of regulations promulgated by the Secretary [of Health and Human Services (HHS)].'
Make no mistake about it, the exchanges will be federally controlled.
Call Gov. Christie now at 609-292-6000 and tell him to UNCONDITIONALLY VETO the New Jersey exchange. Other governors are looking to him for leadership.
We cannot wait for the Supreme Court to rule. We must continue the fight against ObamaCare and act now.
