Houston, Texas — Today, Independent Women’s Voice announced that Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has signed the Presidential ObamaCare Repeal Pledge.
"Ted Cruz’s decision to take Pledge shows he gets it when it comes to health care,” said Heather R. Higgins, President and CEO of Independent Women's Voice. “This clearly demonstrates to voters his commitment to the full and complete repeal of ObamaCare.”
“Sen. Cruz understands the harm that ObamaCare has already caused through increased premiums and rising costs, and a decreasing quality of care,” added Higgins. “ObamaCare means bigger government. It means less freedom. It means people have less choice and control in their health care decisions. And all of this will only continue to grow worse if ObamaCare isn’t turned back.”
“President Obama promised that if ObamaCare was passed, you could keep your plan, you could keep your doctors, and your premiums would go down,” said Sen. Ted Cruz. “Each of those promises has proved false as workers are seeing their hours cut, and small businesses are unable to hire new employees. The 2016 election will be a referendum on this disaster of a law that is harming Americans across the country, especially those struggling to climb the economic ladder.”
“I am proud to sign Independent Women’s Voice's ObamaCare Repeal Pledge,” Cruz added. “Together, we stand for repealing every word of ObamaCare and then reforming federal law to expand choices and make health plans more personal, portable and affordable.”
"The Repeal Pledge was designed as a litmus test to help the American public understand which candidates and office holders are serious about repeal, versus those who claim to be but won't actually take action," continued Higgins. "With this commitment, Sen. Ted Cruz passes that test."
