Earlier this week, we learned that the benchmark ObamaCare plans are going see premium spikes for next year of an average of 25 percent. But even as so many Americans are shelling out more money for their mandated health insurance plans, one of the key architects of ObamaCare denies that the law is imploding:
Jonathan Gruber is making the rounds on television again to tell us Obamacare is “working as designed.” Today he appeared on CNN to argue that, despite the 25% rate hikes for states using the national exchange, there wasn’t a problem with the law.
“Is Obamacare imploding?” CNN’s host asked Gruber. “No, Obamacare’s not imploding,” Gruber replied. …
As to how to “fix” Obamacare, Gruber said, “there’s no sense in which this has to be fixed. The law is working as designed.” He then added, “However, it could work better and I think probably the most important thing the experts would agree on is that we need a larger mandate penalty.”
It's like Gruber is telling all of us, "Who are you going to believe? Me, or your lying eyes?"
The reality is that we know ObamaCare is failing on a massive scale, and forcing Americans to pay for massive premium hikes that too many people can't afford. And Gruber's recommended "fix" is a larger mandate penalty for not purchasing those unaffordable plans?
Stunning.
The only "fix" ObamaCare needs is full and complete repeal. Then, and only then, can we replace it with market-based solutions that finally makes health care affordable for all Americans.
