STATEMENT: INDEPENDENT WOMEN'S VOICE RESPONDS TO FMR. PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON BASHING OBAMACARE
Bill Clinton Is Right – ObamaCare Is A "Crazy System" Where Millions Have Suffered Harm
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Independent Women’s Voice (IWV), the leading organization that fights for women and families by expanding support for policy and campaigns that advance prosperity, freedom, and greater choices, released the below statement following former President Bill Clinton bashing President Obama's signature law – ObamaCare – at a Flint, Michigan rally saying, "It's the craziest thing in the world."
Hadley Heath Manning, IWV's Health Policy Director, said:
"Former President Bill Clinton is right. Millions of Americans have suffered harm as a result of ObamaCare, and small businesses are indeed 'getting killed.' And the millions of newly insured people he mentioned? Most of them have simply been shuffled into a broken Medicaid program, and many more can't afford their ObamaCare plans and deductibles. As usual, the advertised upside of ObamaCare isn't what it seems, and the downsides are so much worse.
"Mr. Clinton may understand some of the law's flaws, but Mrs. Clinton is supporting the wrong solution. Her so-called public option would double-down on ObamaCare, offering only higher costs and lower quality health care in the end. Rather than expanding the role of government in health care, we should be working to reduce it, to foster competition in the private insurance market, to lower costs and provide more affordable, more valuable insurance for everyone."
