INDEPENDENT WOMEN'S VOICE RESPONDS TO PASSAGE OF BUDGET RESOLUTIONS THAT WILL PAVE WAY FOR LAWMAKERS TO ROLLBACK OBAMACARE

Republicans Now In Position To Stop Harms, Help Victims, And Move Towards A Patient-Centered System That Actually Works

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Independent Women’s Voice (IWV), creator of the ObamaCare Repeal Pledge and the leading organization that fights for women and families by expanding support for policy that advances prosperity, freedom, and greater choices, released the below statement following Senate and House passage of budget resolutions, a first step to begin the ObamaCare repeal process. Heather R. Higgins, IWV CEO and President, said:

"Every prediction made eight years ago – about the ways so many people would not be helped but harmed by this law, have come to pass, with an only worsening trajectory ahead.

"Finally Republicans are in a position to stop the harms, help the victims of this law – the newly uninsured, those who have lost their plans and their doctors, make sure no one else gets hurt, and move us toward a 21st century patient-centered health care system that actually works.

"The biggest beneficiaries of this law were big hospitals, who used it to enhance revenues and shut down competition, and big insurance companies, who got the ability to force people to buy policies they did not want at prices they can not afford.

"Expect howls and bogus studies as they try to protect their funding, and expect Trump and the GOP to move fast with a series of executive orders, regulatory changes, and various bills, to make possible the health care Americans all want and deserve."
