The U.S. tax code hasn’t been reformed in over three decades.

The time for tax reform is NOW.

Yesterday, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act advanced out of the Senate Budget Committee, clearing another hurdle before being brought to the Senate floor for an expected vote later this week.

The Senate tax-reform bill:

  • Gives American families a much-needed tax break. This will empower women and families to keep more of what they earn and enjoy better-paying jobs.

  • Gives employees a pay raise by reducing the tax burden on businesses. This will free up more business resources to spend on labor as wages or benefits.

  • Repeals the Individual Mandate. This means the approximately 6.5 million people who paid the penalty last year would not have to pay it this year.

  • Encourages businesses to provide paid leave to workers. The bill includes the Strong Families Act, an important provision from Senator Deb Fischer that would encourage more businesses to offer paid leave benefits to employees without creating a one-size-fits-all mandate that often backfires on the people we most want to help.

If the Senate is going to act on much-needed tax reform, they need to hear from YOU.
