UN Ambassador Nikki Haley took to the world stage again this week, confidently addressing derogatory comments directed at her recently from Palestinian leadership.
During a speech Tuesday to the U.N. Security Council, Haley said she "will not shut up" in response to comments made by Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, who said she "needs to shut up and realize the Palestinian leadership is not the problem."
Haley had recently criticized Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who left the Security Council meeting before the United States had a chance to response to his remarks. This was a clear slight to the U.S. and Haley addressed her comments to him specifically, knowing he would hear them even not being in the room.
The tension comes over Palestinian disagreement with the Trump Administration on how to find a path way to peace in the Middle East. Read more about the situation here.
