Kanye West applauded a conservative female commentator over the weekend for her independent-thinking and that set off the left including men like actor Tom Arnold.

Arnold launched a misogynistic attack against Candance Owens hurling vicious and obscene accusations in an effort to discredit her and silence her voice.

While many regular Americans are defending Owens against the backlash, Hollywood and feminists are notably silent.

It all began when Kanye West tweeted:@kanyewestI love the way Candace Owens thinks.

He then followed with a series of tweets against censorship and the demonization of people who think differently. In this hyper-polarized environment, this is the kind of open-minded thinking that Americans on both sides can embrace.

Kanye like Owens for challenging prevailing progressive views. They have poked the beehive, and the bees like Tom Arnold aren't happy.

Arnold tweeted a response to Owens:

@RealCandanceO Good luck glomming onto @kanyewest His family already told him you were a phony & fraud. A former democratic bad actress doing video bits to get on TV anyway she can. Enjoy it now. You're so inauthentic even your white power fans are going to get bored with you.

Tom Arnold replied to:

Candace OwensVerified account @RealCandaceO

When @PerezHilton @TomArnold and @ShaunKing, 3 white men, rush to viciously attack the freedom of two black people who refuse to be pawns to a leftist ideology—it should ring as a wake up call to the world about who the real racists are.…

However, the most obscene tweet has conveniently disappeared from Arnold's Twitter feedOn the internet, nothing is ever really deleted:

@TomArnold: That's a lot of extra words @RealCandaceO so you can suck racist d**k by trying to insult an actual hero @ShaunKing hahahaha. #MAGA  23/4/18, 00:59

What a kind way to talk about a woman you don't know, but simply disagree with.

The left can't believe that Kanye West would think differently from his parents or defend other blacks who as a Washington Post article explains

The bigger issue though is that Tom Arnold is choosing to pick a fight with this young black woman. He's conveniently silent about Kanye's original approbation of Owens.

Arnold's comments are disgusting and indefensible. They prove Kanye West's point about censorship of opposing thought and that the left will demonize you if you don't follow the script.

While this is just one example, conservative women in the public eye face this kind of backlash and worse on a daily basis simply because they don't follow the expectations set for them as women (or black women). If we want an equitable world where men and women are free to express their opinions, we cannot allow this kind of intolerance to go unaddressed.

We don't have to agree with everything a person says, but they have the right to say it without these kinds of vicious attacks – especially from a man like Tom Arnold.
