On Saturday night, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders bore the brunt of comedian Michelle Wolf’s unfunny viciousness. Even so, Sanders behaved with dignity, as she always does.

We are saddened by this event. We are all supportive of humor but it doesn't mean license to do or say anything we want in form of joke. We want higher standards for everyone.

People on both sides of the aisle should work to be more civil and respectful and work together without resorting to personal attacks. Humor has its place, but this wasn’t funny.

Listen to IWV’s CEO, Heather Higgins, and President, Tammy Bruce, discuss comedy and the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and how we can promote civil dialogue and #ChampionWomen everywhere.
