The Christmas season is rife with generosity — and one celebrity is playing a part in a big way. Tyler Perry said he tried to do it anonymously, but word got out after he paid off more than $430,000 in layaway charges at Wal-Mart this week.

In a Twitter video, Perry let folks in Douglasville, Georgia know their layaway charges had been fully paid for. The video was too cute and it was clear Perry was excited to deliver the message.

Perry's not the only one who is spreading the cheer. We documented a few other good Samaritans earlier this week . It's great to be feeling the positive effectis of an economy that is on the upswing

Here's hoping Perry made Christmas for a few families that much more sweet.
