Independent Women's Voice has released a coalition letter addressed to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and Senate Appropriations Committee leaders of 6 organizations—including Independent Women's Voice, Concerned Women for America LAC, Heritage Action, Gun Owners of America, National Association for Gun Rights, and Family Research Council—opposing the inclusion of the highly controversial Violence Against Women Act (S.2842 or H.R. 1585) in the coronavirus aid package.

The letter cautions against the VAWA as a whole being put in the next coronavirus aid package and strongly recommends that any funding for victims of violence during these times should be targeted and additional transparency/accountability measures should be attached.
