WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Independent Women’s Voice (IWV) released the following statement on President Biden’s first 100 days in office:

Carrie Lukas, vice president of IWV, said, “On the campaign trail, then-candidate Joe Biden promised to be a moderating force and embrace bipartisanship. That campaign promise has been broken on an almost daily basis. Biden has bowed to the interests of the progressive left by pursuing radical progressive policies like packing the Supreme Court, advancing the framework of the Green New Deal, federalizing our election system, and ramming through a pork-filled spending bill under the banner of COVID relief, but that has nothing to do with actually addressing the pandemic.”

Jennifer C. Braceras, director of Independent Women’s Law Center, added, “Over the last several decades, women have made significant strides, and it’s exciting to think about the contributions future generations of women will make to the world. Unfortunately, many of President Biden’s policies—like allowing biological men to compete on women’s college sports teams—undermine the rights of women and girls.”

Patrice Onwuka, director of the Center for Economic Opportunity, said, “During his first days in office, Biden has demonstrated that he is out of touch with the needs of everyday Americans, especially working women. Instead he’s focused on boosting union headcounts and power. The Protect the Right to Organize (PRO) Act and a $15 minimum wage—both policies that Biden supports—would destroy opportunities for millions of workers—many of whom are women—who choose not to work traditional 9-to-5 jobs. The pandemic has proven that women need a 21st century workforce built on choices and flexible work opportunities.”
