TRANSCRIPT
Heather Higgins on “The Greg Kelly Show” (WABC) – April 29, 2021

Greg Kelly:

Well, Heather Higgins is one of the great public intellectuals of our time, especially here in New York City. You see her all the time on places like Fox News and Newsmax. She is the CEO of the Independent Women’s Voice. A very, very influential, Independent Women’s Voice. Heather Higgins. How are you doing? Did you watch the speech last night?

Heather Higgins:

I am blushing. I’m blushing and it’s a good thing we’re on radio, because with all those encomiums. Thank you. I appreciate it.

Greg Kelly:

Ooh, encomiums. You see, I told you guys she was an intellectual. What did you think of that-

Heather Higgins:

I had a mother who’s an English teacher, so big vocabularies were drilled into us young.

Greg Kelly:

Actually, well, let’s learn together, and econ-

Heather Higgins:

Encomium is a form of praise, extreme praise.

Greg Kelly:

I love it. Encomium. I don’t think I’m going to adopt that, but it’s very good. So, listen, what did you, brainiac that you are, think of that speech last night?

Heather Higgins:

I’ve only gotten to watch clips. I’m on the West Coast and it occurred while I was out and unable to watch it firsthand. It was, I think, largely predictable, but I was particularly impressed with Tim Scott. I wasn’t surprised that he was as good as he was, but he’s always been good, but he was particularly good last night, I thought,

Greg Kelly:

Yeah, Tim Scott, who had the boldness to say that America is not a racist country. Did you see what was trending on Twitter? You heard of Uncle Tom. They were calling him Uncle Tim. Man, the left wing is so full of hate.

Heather Higgins:

Sadly, yes. Accuracy is not their go-to operation here. It’s personalize and destroy, and it’s very unfortunate. I think a lot of us in this country, left, right, and center are wanting people to get along and be civil to one another and understand that there are differences of opinion and not everything is racist. And if that is your only lens for looking at the world, you’re missing out on a lot of accuracy in your thinking.

Greg Kelly:

It’s such a shame. So we have no use for the mainstream media because that’s what they’re doing. Everything is race. Everything is race, from coronavirus to everything else, it’s all about race. Hey, listen, as one of the most select intellectual conservative thinkers in America, you are in demand. All of the candidates, most of them kind of want to check in with you at some point or another. I understand that you’ve had a couple of interactions with Rand Paul over the past couple of months. What do you make of him?

Heather Higgins:

I’ve always really liked Rand. He’s a principled guy and he certainly does a very creditable job of reflecting the Libertarian perspective in Congress. I wish there were more like him, but he’s smart, so good guy. But we talk with, in Independent Women’s Voice we talk with all kinds of members of Congress and Senators across the spectrum of the Republican party, as well as working with Democrats, where we find people who actually want to get to solutions.

Greg Kelly:

So, what’s the big issue right now. I mean, in my view, look, the border situation, which I don’t think was really touched on last night, we have no border.

Heather Higgins:

No, it was stunningly absent from the speech, really. The fact that there was zero on this is as one of our issues that we’re talking about because the vacuum on this is breathtaking. We have a nation that is totally caught up with COVID, whose lives have been shut down, who’ve not been able to see people when they go into hospitals, who’ve not been able to hug grandchildren. We finally have the vaccines. We’re finally hoping to get our lives back, and what’s not being discussed, until just like this last week there was finally an article on the New York Times, is what’s going on at the border, this complete undermining of everything we’ve been trying to do because they are taking all these migrants who are walking in and have a totally different set of rules than if you’re flying in. And they are taking people who are not COVID tested or even COVID positive and putting them on planes, as well as buses, and sending them throughout the country to infect the rest of us.

And interestingly, because of Biden’s policies and undoing the agreements that Trump had with Mexico, Mexico is no longer taking back people who coming from the South American countries, and the South American countries are where they are now getting the variants on COVID which are seeming to be particularly deadly and virulent. So in March, there were over 170,000 encounters with Border Patrol. That’s up over 70% from where it had been in February. Half of those, 100000 people nearly, were single adult males.

Greg Kelly:

So wait-

Heather Higgins:

20000 nearly were kids. And we know that overall, because, see, they are not doing the testing at the border, they’re mostly letting them into the country and then when they get to some sort of shelter or wherever they’re going, the testing that’s been done shows that they are anywhere from three to 10 times more likely to be COVID infected that populations in the United States.

Greg Kelly:

So why would they be this? Is this just incompetence? Or is this part of some sort of plan? I mean, why would they allow this?

Heather Higgins:

There are two theories, and maybe there’s a third that your listeners will come up with. The first is naivete and stupidity, and as Jonathan Hyatt has documented, the left gets so caught up in their utopian intentions that they cannot see what the human reality, the secondary tertiary consequences of their good intentions are going to be. So Biden somehow didn’t figure out that opening the door to illegal immigration was going to create caravans of people who knew that this was the time to come up because they would just be welcomed into the country, and so what if they have COVID, and they’d be encouraged to come in, because it was more important to be welcoming than to care about the health of the country.

The other argument is this is, you know what a blitz is in football, right? Where you have all these things going on to distract people while the play is actually being run. And the idea here is you want all these people coming into the country. Literally it had been 5,000 a week. It’s now sounds like it’s going to be well more than that with the 70% increase that they’ve documented as of March over or as of February. And you are having people scattered like Skittles throughout the country to have the population of these migrants just soar through the roof. And whether the reason for that is somebody sees this as replacement workers for Americans who are choosing to take advantage of the stimulus checks and not work right now, or whether it’s because somebody is thinking, “Ooh, maybe we get another COVID lockdown and we get to have more control and we get to have paper ballots again,.” That would be deeply Machiavellian and evil to be thinking that way, but human beings occasionally think in deeply evil in Machiavellian ways. I don’t know what it is.

All I know is that it’s so unfair to the American people. It is deeply mendacious to be telling us that we all have to adhere to all these protocols, and then at the same time, as Fauci has testified, not apply any of those protocols to people who are coming in at the border. Either they need to remove all the protocols from our lives because the protocols don’t actually do anything and don’t actually matter, or they need to apply the protocols to the people who are coming at the border. But either way Americans want to get their lives back, whether they are Democrats or Republicans, we all want to get our lives back.

Greg Kelly:

Well, we sure do. And we’re so thankful that you’re on the case, Heather Higgins from the Independent Women’s Voice, check them out, iwv.org. A lot of great material on this website and women, primarily, thinking some very interesting things and using words like mendacious. I love it. And they are very mendacious. Dishonest on the left. Heather Higgins. Thank you very much. Hey, what’s your Twitter address? You tweet some great stuff.

Heather Higgins:

Oh, thank you. I’m at @TheHRH. And more importantly, to this issue, if people want to go to safeborderspetition.com, you can add your voice to the cry that the Biden, and an interesting, there is a law already on the books called Title 42, and the Biden administration only repealed the piece that applied to children. Children were only 20,000, not even that, of the 170,000 plus across in one month.

Greg Kelly:

All right, we want to sign this petition. Give it to us one more time, please.

Heather Higgins:

Safeborderspetition.com.

Greg Kelly:

Excellent. Heather Higgins. Thank you so much. Thanks for being with us.
