Dear Members of Congress,
Independent Women’s Voice, the leading national women’s organization dedicated to expanding support for common sense public policies among women, independents, millennials, and Gen Z, is proud to support Representative Burgess Owens’ bill to rescind Executive Order 13950, which reinstates the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) to federal employees.
Although CRT (sometimes referred to as Anti-Racism) cloaks itself in the mantle of equality, it is just the opposite. In fact, CRT rejects the equality principle, urging us to view one another, not as individuals or as Americans, but as members of either an oppressor or victim class based solely on skin color.
We cannot begin to combat racism if we allow CRT to divide us by focusing on racial differences instead of our common humanity. We must not stand by while our government indoctrinates its own employees to believe it is racist to regard America as the land of opportunity. And we must not stand by while our government teaches its employees to reject America’s founding principle that all men and women are created equal.
We thank Representative Owens for his leadership on this issue and urge you to join him in opposing the pernicious ideology of Critical Race Theory.
Respectfully,
Hadley Heath Manning
