While campaigning for the White House, liberals like candidate Joe Biden frequently accused conservatives of both lacking civility and being anti-woman. Yet when the rubber hits the road, both President Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) are now rolling in hypocrisy for failing to support Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) because she won’t fall in line behind their far-left agenda.

Angry, yelling protesters followed Sinema into the bathroom of Arizona State University, stood outside her stall, and hovered over as she washed her hands. They demanded she vote to support trillions of dollars in wasteful government spending that shackles Americans in debt and jacks up inflation (hitting poor families hardest).

Sanders reportedly refused to sign a statement condemning last weekend’s harassment of Sinema “because it also wouldn’t include a rebuke of her political views,” according to Axios’ Alayna Treene. “The move is emblematic of the hostility between the progressive and moderate members, who have been sparring over the cost and scope of Biden’s agenda. Sanders wanted the statement to urge Sinema to drop her opposition to prescription drug reform, as well as Biden’s $3.5 trillion social safety net expansion.”

Axios also reported that people in “Sinema’s orbit have privately vented frustration that her fellow Democratic senators and the White House haven’t more forcefully spoken out.”

Publicly, Sinema called what happened to her in the bathroom “not legitimate protest,” and “wholly inappropriate.”

On Monday, Biden told reporters he didn’t think the harassers’ tactics were “appropriate,” then shockingly continued, “but it happens to everybody” and “The only people it doesn’t happen to are people who have Secret Service standing around them. So, it’s part of the process.”

Got that? It’s “part of the process” to allow women to be stalked in the bathroom while serving as university professors elected to public office. What’s also particularly tone-deaf is that Arizona has a tragic, violent history against public servants. Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who served as a U.S. congresswoman from Arizona, suffered severe brain injury during a shooting spree at one of her public events that killed six people by a madman who reportedly didn’t believe women should hold public office.

Yet the dismal actions of both Biden and Sanders come as no surprise, given how many women have spoken publicly about how Biden engaged in creepy, unwanted touching. Or that Sanders wrote an essay about how a woman “fantasizes being raped by three men simultaneously.”

Democrats promised to right the ship, restore “normalcy,” decorum, and steadiness to the Oval Office. This is the latest example of how they’re failing across the board.
