WASHINGTON, D.C. — After months of conducting opposition analysis and offering criticism of the president’s bank regulator pick, Independent Women’s Voice (IWV) welcomes the news that President Biden’s Comptroller of the Currency nominee Saule Omarvoa withdrew her nomination for the post. Omarova faced bipartisan opposition due to her views on radically overhauling the U.S. financial system.

Patrice Onwuka, senior policy analyst at IWV, released the following statement:

“This is a victory for capitalism and a win for the people of the freest nation. No one who appreciates the policies of a failed totalitarian regime more than the freedom and opportunity of America should be anywhere near a seat of power. Saule Omarova disdained some private industries and would have engineered the demise of private baking. Omarova’s dangerous views made her the wrong woman for the job and we’re glad she won’t get it.”
