Columbia, South Carolina – Today, Independent Women’s Network, a project of Independent Women’s Voice, launched its “UnMask Students” campaign in South Carolina. Currently, students in Richland and Sumter school districts are required to wear masks in schools, despite no statewide mask mandate for adults.

Carrie Lukas, member of Independent Women’s Network, said, “It is time for Americans of all political stripes to unite in opposing mask mandates in schools. Study after study has suggested that masks have the potential to harm children’s development, as well as their emotional and mental health. Our ‘Unmask Campaign’ aims to put power back in parents’ hands, doing what they believe is best for their children.”

Parents in these school districts are encouraged to contact district leaders and demand parental control over the decision to mask students.
