DOVER, DE — Today, the Delaware Senate Health & Social Services Committee silenced Independent Women Ambassador and detransitioner Prisha Mosley, neglecting to allow her to testify virtually in support of Senate Bill 55, which would prohibit “gender transition” procedures for children. Despite Mosley registering, receiving confirmation, joining the virtual queue, and raising her hand to speak, Chairwoman Marie Pinkney ignored Mosley’s opportunity to share her firsthand experience surrounding the irreversible damage she suffered at the hands of medical providers after she began identifying as a male at 16 years old.

SB 55 seeks to protect children in Delaware from undergoing harmful medical interventions in the name of gender ideology. Mosley, who underwent a double mastectomy to remove her healthy breasts at just 17 years old and is now back to living as a woman, had a uniquely critical testimony to add to the committee meeting. Instead, after sitting through two hours of the hearing on SB 55, and listening to others share their testimonies, which misrepresented the reality of what Mosley and other detransitioners have faced, Mosley was not called upon to speak.

While it is unclear whether the chairwoman of the hearing intentionally blocked Mosley’s testimony, the exclusion raises serious concerns about bias in the hearing process. Mosley mustered the courage to share her experience in support of SB 55, only to be shut out of the conversation—a clear violation of the principles of open debate and First Amendment rights.

Mosley took to X to share the testimony she had prepared for the hearing and was not allowed to give:

She states, in part:

“There are no trans children, only ideologically captured activists and doctors who lie and twist distress into an identity. No child benefits from being needlessly injected with hormones and given amputations based on their feelings. Making cosmetic alterations to the secondary sex characteristics does not cure mental distress, but worsens it. Children deserve to grow up with their health intact and to receive ethical and evidence-based treatment when they are distressed. They deserve better than to be medicalized for profit and then abandoned by doctors when they face complications like I did.”

In addition to sharing her testimony on X, Mosley also moved forward with submitting her written testimony to the committee to continue in her efforts to make her voice heard and influence change at the state level.

Mosley has shared her story—including how she found herself the subject of yet another medical experiment when she unexpectedly became pregnant after detransitioning—in two exclusive documentaries produced by IW Features, Independent Women’s grassroots storytelling and original journalism arm, in its “Identity Crisis” series.
