WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Independent Women, a leading national women’s organization dedicated to advancing policies that enhance opportunity and well-being, celebrates the progress for America in the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term in office and the positive impact of the administration’s America-first policies.
Carrie Lukas, president of Independent Women, said: “President Trump’s first 100 days have been a game changer. Finally we have a President who takes seriously the need to eliminate wasteful government spending and root out the corruption that we know has crept into too much of our federal bureaucracy. Taxpayer dollars should be used judiciously and solely to advance the legitimate interests of the American people. Americans should all welcome the radical transparency embraced by this administration, which is key to restoring public trust in our government and in our public health system.”
Patrice Onwuka, director of Independent Women’s Center for Economic Opportunity, said: “Prices are coming down and Americans are saving money. That’s a big promise made and kept by President Trump. When he took office, the inflation rate was on an upswing rising to 3% year-over-year. Two months later, it’s down to 2.4% providing households with much-needed relief. Egg prices are finally becoming affordable again and prices at the pump are falling. Meanwhile, President Trump saved Americans about $2,100 per family just by halting Biden-era regulations. Expanding supply of goods and energy and deregulation are powerful aspects of his economic agenda that is making life more affordable. Tax cuts are the missing piece of this agenda that will turbocharge our economy as prosper households once again.”
Meaghan Mobbs, director of Independent Women’s Center for American Safety and Security, said: “President Trump’s first 100 days have delivered real results for America’s safety and security. Illegal crossings at the southern border have plummeted by 93% per day, and gotaways encounters have dropped by 95%. By restoring ‘Remain in Mexico,’ ending catch-and-release, and surging up to 10,000 troops to support border enforcement, President Trump has done what critics said couldn’t be done: put sovereignty, law, and order back at the center of America’s border policy. We’re also seeing a ‘Trump bump’ in military recruiting, fueled by a renewed focus on lethality, warfighting, and restoring the warrior ethos. By eliminating divisive policies and programs that undermined good order and discipline, morale, and unit cohesion, President Trump is enhancing the strength and capability of our armed forces. And strength means nothing without the will to use it. To secure America’s future, it’s time to reject the frailty and feebleness of the past and boldly restore American leadership with renewed vitality, purpose, and vigor. This means standing unapologetically with our allies and unflinchingly against our adversaries.”
Gabriella Hoffman, director of Independent Women’s Center for Energy and Conservation, said: “Smart energy and conservation policies have been supercharged during President Trump’s first 100 days. Deregulation won’t lead to decimation of the environment. By prioritizing energy abundance over net-zero and market innovation over top-down directives, our nation is on track to be a net-exporter of energy again. That doesn’t mean production will come at the expense of conservation. Simultaneously with more oil, gas, coal, and nuclear projects, this administration is restoring and expanding public lands access while addressing the National Parks Service maintenance backlog. Our Center for Energy and Conservation applauds the Trump administration for making these issues a top priority.”
Beth Parlato, senior legal advisor for Independent Women, said: “President Trump’s first 100 days have marked a decisive shift toward restoring constitutional order and the rule of law in our nation. From reinforcing the integrity of our immigration system to ensuring government accountability, the administration has taken bold and necessary steps in its commitment to the American people. The President’s executive actions to clarify sex-based definitions reflects a commitment to truth and has laid a strong foundation for a legal environment rooted in fairness, due process, and respect for individual liberties.”
Neeraja Deshpande, policy analyst and engagement coordinator for Independent Women, said: “Between going after institutions that have flagrantly defied civil rights law and signing executive orders to restore discipline and end ideological indoctrination in K12 classrooms, the Trump administration has gone above and beyond on making American schools and colleges sane again. If this is what the administration has accomplished in just 100 days, we cannot wait to see what it will do in the 1,362 days between now and the end of President Trump’s second term in 2029. American students—and American civil society—will be better off for the administration’s leadership and willingness to take strong action against the bad ideas, bad policies, and cowardice that had been corrupting our institutions for far too long..”
Upon President Trump’s Inauguration, Independent Women sent a letter laying out a series of policy concepts for President Trump and his administration to consider that would restore opportunities for Americans and strengthen our country.
