The Big, Beautiful Bill is an imperative.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Independent Women, a leading national women’s organization dedicated to advancing policies that enhance opportunity and well-being, released the following statements following the passage of President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” in the House of Representatives:

Carrie Lukas, president of Independent Women, said:

“Congratulations Speaker Johnson for crafting a coalition to pass this important legislation. With the slimmest of majorities, he kept people focused on the big picture of delivering critical tax relief to the American people, creating a more stable economic environment, and restoring security and strength to our nation.”

Patrice Onwuka, director of Independent Women’s Center for Economic Opportunity, said:

“Independent Women and the millions of American women we represent applaud the U.S. House of Representatives for passing landmark tax cuts and spending reforms. Conservatives in Congress put their constituents’ financial security and our nation’s fiscal health first. Speaker Mike Johnson, Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith, and the leadership of the House deserve immense praise. They worked diligently with groups like ours to enact President Trump’s economy-boosting agenda of tax relief to hardworking Americans, households, and small businesses; spending restraint; and common-sense reforms to our social safety net. We urge the U.S. Senate to pass these tax cuts and reforms quickly.”

Meaghan Mobbs, director of Independent Women’s Center for American Safety and Security, said:

“With the Big, Beautiful Bill passing the House, America takes a decisive step toward restoring national strength. From the $69 billion investment in real border security to the bold $25 billion Golden Dome missile defense shield, this legislation puts American sovereignty and safety first. The Center for American Safety and Security at Independent Women applauds House leadership and President Trump for prioritizing the security of our homeland.”

Gabriella Hoffman, director of Independent Women’s Center for Energy and Conservation, said:

“The Center for Energy and Conservation at Independent Women applauds the House of Representatives for cutting wasteful green spending and 60% of costly IRA green subsidies. It is our hope that tax credits for mature industries like unreliable wind and solar are also sunsetted in the final version of the Big, Beautiful Bill and are encouraged to see more reforms here.”

Beth Parlato, senior legal advisor of Independent Women’s Law Center, said:

“The Independent Women’s Law Center commends the House of Representatives’ passage of the Big, Beautiful Bill and urges the Senate to follow suit. This legislation advances the rule of law, restores fiscal sanity, and reinforces the foundational principles that make our nation strong. We commend House leadership and President Trump for championing a bold, comprehensive legislative package that prioritizes liberty, security, and economic opportunity for all Americans.”

Julie Gunlock, director of Independent Women’s Network, said:

“On behalf of the 60,000+ members of the Independent Women’s Network, we are thrilled that this truly beautiful bill finally passed the House. We congratulate Speaker Mike Johnson for his hard work to shepherd this bill through to passage and urge the Senate to finish the job quickly. Americans are ready for economic relief, tax cuts, spending cuts, and a secure border so that America can be great again!”

Ahead of this morning’s final vote on the Big, Beautiful Bill in the House of Representatives (215-214), Independent Women’s Network has been actively engaged with its members across the country and encouraged them to contact their elected representatives in support of the bill. Yesterday, a letter signed by numerous Network chapter leaders from across the country in support of the Big, Beautiful Bill was sent to House leadership. The Network will now focus on its members calling and emailing the Senate to support the bill and send it to the president’s desk.
