WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Independent Women, a leading national women’s organization dedicated to advancing policies that enhance opportunity and well-being, issued the following statement on President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill”:

Meaghan Mobbs, director of the Center for American Safety and Security at Independent Women, said:

“The Center for American Safety and Security strongly supports the robust border security and missile defense provisions within the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The $69 billion commitment to border enforcement—through expanded barriers, advanced surveillance technologies, and a surge in Border Patrol and ICE personnel—is a decisive step toward restoring the rule of law and protecting American sovereignty.

“We are also encouraged by the $25 billion investment in the Golden Dome missile defense shield. In an era of escalating threats from hypersonic weapons, rogue regimes, and near-peer adversaries, a modern, layered missile defense system is essential to safeguarding our homeland and deterring aggression.

“These provisions represent a historic and necessary investment in America’s safety and security—and we applaud the prioritization of strong borders and national defense.”

Ahead of a final vote on the “Big, Beautiful Bill” in the House of Representatives, Independent Women’s Network is actively engaging with constituents across the country and encouraging them to contact their elected representatives in support of the bill.
