WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Independent Women’s Voice, a leading national women’s organization dedicated to advancing policies that enhance opportunity and well-being, urges the U.S. Senate to advance President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” (OBBB):
Patrice Onwuka, director of Independent Women’s Center for Economic Opportunity, said:
“Americans are on the cusp of an economic revival. The ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’ will allow hardworking Americans to earn more and pay less. The OBBB prevents a $1,700 tax hike on the average family of four, 26 million small businesses from being slammed with a 43% tax rate, and 40 million families from losing half of their Child Tax Credit. Americans and families can expect an average increase of $10,000 in take-home pay annually. They’ll enjoy new tax savings from eliminated taxes on tips, overtime, and car loan interest; an enhanced Child Tax Credit and standard deduction; new savings for seniors; and incentives to save for learning and the future from expanded 529s and newborn Trump savings accounts. The OBBB will spark economic growth through the permanence of investment-boosting provisions such as full expensing, R&D tax credit, and enhanced small business credit, and the expansion of Opportunity Zones. And, it aims to rightsize our social safety net by preserving Medicaid for the truly needy—children, disabled, and pregnant women—not work-capable, idle adults. The OBBB is pro-woman, pro-family, pro-small business, and pro-America. We urge every senator to pass this bill.”
Meaghan Mobbs, director of Independent Women’s Center for American Safety and Security, said:
“The ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ is a generational investment in American strength and security and is a bold, unapologetic return to the core responsibilities of government—securing our borders, deterring our enemies, and restoring America’s military dominance. With over $46 billion to build the wall, surge manpower, and deploy cutting-edge surveillance, this bill reclaims our sovereignty and puts an end to the chaos enabled by open-border policies. The OBBB invests $25 billion in the Golden Dome missile defense system delivering on President Trump’s vision of a layered shield to protect the American homeland from missile attacks and commits $29 billion to rebuilding our naval fleet and maritime industrial base to project power across the globe, particularly in the Indo-Pacific. It accelerates munitions production, modernizes our nuclear deterrent, and arms our warfighters with the AI-driven technologies and next-generation platforms they need to win future conflicts. And with $400 million dedicated to ensuring the Department of Defense passes a clean audit, the bill proves that fiscal responsibility and combat readiness can, and must, go hand in hand. This is what peace through strength looks like: an unmatched fighting force ready at a moment’s notice, and a homeland protected from those who wish us harm.”
Gabriella Hoffman, director of Independent Women’s Center for Energy and Conservation, said:
“Our Center for Energy and Conservation is encouraged that the latest version of the OBBB dismantles costly IRA subsidies for solar and wind projects. These subsidies distort the market, propping up entities that can’t credibly compete in the market. Removing these subsidies will encourage a refocus on energy abundance so that we can produce more reliable energy and power America’s new Golden Age.”
