WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Independent Women’s Voice, a leading national women’s organization dedicated to advancing policies that enhance opportunity and well-being, congratulates President Donald Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and Leader John Thune for successfully delivering the largest tax cut in American history.
Today marks a defining victory for hard working Americans—Congress has delivered on President Trump’s bold vision by passing the One Big Beautiful Bill. This is a monumental step forward in securing a stronger, safer, and more prosperous America: extending tax relief, boosting national defense, reinforcing border security, and empowering American workers and small businesses to thrive. It’s a true gift to the American people this Independence Day.
Carrie Lukas, president of Independent Women’s Forum, said:
“Congratulations to President Trump, Speaker Johnson and Leader Thune on this historic achievement. The passage of this bill is great news for the American people who are spared a loom tax tsunami and will now be able to enjoy an economy with less red tape and more opportunity.”
Patrice Onwuka, director of Independent Women’s Center for Economic Opportunity, said:
“America is poised for an economic revival thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill. This legislation will make a genuine difference in the lives of hardworking men and women, households, and small businesses across America.
“Preserving lowered tax rates, enhancing the Child Tax Credit, and other provisions promise to drive poverty to record lows and earnings to new highs. “New tax incentives will allow great servers to keep more of their tips, help seniors’ incomes go farther, and encourage mom-and-pop shops to make needed equipment purchases or expand their operations. Blighted rural and urban areas will be revitalized by risk-takers incentivized to invest in overlooked communities.
“Finally, our social safety net programs will be rightsized to serve poor children, vulnerable pregnant women, and the disabled after the Affordable Care Act and Biden COVID-era policies incentivized fraud and worsened care for the needy.
“A new era of opportunity and prosperity in America is on the way.”
Meaghan Mobbs, director of Independent Women’s Center for American Safety and Security, said:
“The ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’ is an investment in American strength and security and is a bold, unapologetic return to the core responsibilities of government – securing our borders, deterring our enemies, and restoring America’s military dominance.
“This bill reclaims our sovereignty by investing in physical barriers, surging manpower, and deploying cutting-edge surveillance technology to put a firm end to the chaos fueled by open-border policies. It fast-tracks munitions production, modernizes our nuclear arsenal, and equips our warfighters with AI-enabled systems and next-generation platforms to dominate future battlefields. By requiring the Department of Defense to pass a clean audit, the bill also makes clear: fiscal responsibility and combat readiness are not mutually exclusive.
“This is what peace through strength looks like: an unmatched fighting force ready at a moment’s notice, and a homeland protected from those who wish us harm.”
Gabriella Hoffman, director of Independent Women’s Center for Energy and Conservation, said:
“The One Big Beautiful Bill is a win for American energy independence and consumer choice. The so-called Inflation Reduction Act drove inflation, and spiked energy costs and scarcity. The OBBB reverses that damange—leveling the playing field, inviting more innovation, and making America an energy powerhouse once again, while saving taxpayers billions. By removing costly green energy subsidies, more reliable domestic energy will be produced and consumed here at home while protecting the environment.”
Inez Stepman, senior policy and legal analyst, said:
“This bill finally restores some sanity and fairness to our higher education sector, which has long depended on endlessly escalating government loans to raise tuition prices far above average inflation. The status quo has left students in debt, but universities rich. Today, President Trump will sign a bill that reins back irresponsible benefits for universities on the taxpayer dime by treating them as they are too often: hedge funds with a school attached. With reforms capping federal loans and raising taxes on endowments, Congress and the President are not punishing higher education, but demanding that it lives up to its promises to the American people, promises it has long flouted at the expense of those with and without degrees alike. While the new rate falls short of what fairness demands, it’s a step – hopefully just the first step – in the right direction.”
