HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING:

Healthcare price transparency is a bipartisan issue, with about 90 percent public support! The Trump Administration has taken action to require healthcare providers to disclose their prices, starting in 2021. Lawmakers in Congress are considering the Health Care PRICE Transparency Act, which would codify the Administration’s actions and make price transparency the law!

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE:

We would never agree to buy anything without knowing how much it is going to cost. Prices in health care should work the same way. We should be able to plan ahead for how to pay and shop among providers. We should make informed, value-driven decisions about our care. And we should know what our out-of-pocket costs will be, as well as what costs, markups, discounts, and payments others pay on our behalf.
