Take action now to protect the Electoral College and ensure that New Hampshire remains relevant in presidential politics. Contact your representatives today and urge them to support House Bill 1531.
Special interest groups are determined to do an end-run around the Constitution and institute a nationwide popular vote through the back door, via the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC).
States that adopt the NPVIC pledge to give all of their electors in every election to the candidate who receives the most votes nationwide. But this is contrary to our constitutionally mandated Electoral College system and could render New Hampshire’s four electoral votes meaningless and silence the voices of New Hampshire voters.
Our Founders created the Electoral College to ensure that votes in ALL states mattered and to protect voters in less populous states, like New Hampshire, from being marginalized. The NPVIC will render the Electoral College an empty shell, defying the election process designed by our Founders and enshrined in our Constitution.
But Granite-staters don’t need to sit by and let other states drown out New Hampshire’s unique voice. Use the form to contact your state representatives, and urge them to support HB 1531 to stop the NPVIC in its tracks.
