Beverly Gossage is a former educator and District Manager for Sylvan Learning Centers who became a health insurance agent to reduce premiums for her parents’ small business in Lawrence, KS. Their plumbing company became the first full replacement group MSA/HSA. In her 14 years as a health insurance agent licensed in nearly half the states, she has exclusively written Consumer Driven Health Plans for her clients. She is a respected expert on health care related issues and a sought-after speaker for such groups as State Policy Network, ALEC, NCSL, Chambers of Commerce, NAHU, and NFIB.
Beverly was invited by President Bush to the White House in 2006 for a round table on HSAs and most recently to meet with the Trump White House health care staff. She has conducted Capitol Hill briefings in DC, testified on free market health care policy in several states, and assisted in crafting policy, including HB818 in Missouri and HB2107 in KS. She was a research fellow for Show Me Institute and serves on the advisory board for Doctors and Patients Medical Association (DPMA) and as a Senior Fellow for Independent Women’s Voice. As an active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, she has been President and Legislative Chair of the Greater Kansas City chapter and Professional Development chair for six states. Governor Sam Brownback appointed her to the State Board of Indigents Defense Services in 2016, and she has served on multiple commissions on health care. Beverly has been interviewed on local and national news stations and written op-eds for several publications, including The Hill, Forbes, and USA Today.
Beverly was a candidate for Kansas Insurance Commissioner in 2014.
