Elizabeth Tew is the director of communications at Independent Women’s Voice. Prior to joining IWF, Elizabeth spent nearly seven years in television news covering important news stories and how they impact individuals, communities and society. She worked for both local and national news outlets. Elizabeth began her career as a local reporter in North Carolina. She’s won several awards for her in-depth local reporting. Her transition to national news came after moving to New York to work in production at CNN. In this role, Elizabeth worked alongside show teams and network booking during political and breaking news events—from CNN’s coverage of the 2016 election to mass shootings and natural disasters. In her free time, Elizabeth also co-authored feature stories for CNN Digital. Elizabeth graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and received her Master’s degree from Columbia University.
