Lynn Hatcher is the director of communications at Independent Women’s Voice. She supports media outreach operations and helps drive communications strategies for issue education and advocacy campaigns, special projects, and events.

Prior to joining the team at IWV, Lynn served as the communications director for two members of the U.S. House of Representatives where she implemented messaging, media relations, and constituent outreach strategies. Before her experiences on Capitol Hill, Lynn was a communications associate at Nahigian Strategies, a full-service strategic communications and public relations firm, where she worked closely with corporate, government, and political clients to secure and facilitate media interviews, develop crisis communications plans and response modules, and advance events to generate maximum earned media engagement.

Early in her professional career, Lynn grew her media and public relations skills as an intern for the Vice President’s Office of Communications at the White House, the U.S. House of Representatives Majority Whip, and the Heritage Foundation’s Young Leaders Program. Lynn also has enjoyed local, state, and national political campaign volunteer experience.

Lynn graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History. She was a member of the NCAA Division III Gettysburg College Women’s Golf Team. Today, she continues to enjoy the game of golf and is part of the Women’s Congressional Golf Association.

Lynn’s great-grandmother was the first woman to run for the Maryland House of Delegates in 1950. Given her long-held interest in exploring policies advanced and championed by women, Lynn at Gettysburg College was part of the “Women in Leadership” program through the Eisenhower Institute, a public policy and leadership center guided by President Eisenhower’s principles.

A native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Lynn currently resides in Washington, D.C. Lynn is new to the Pittsburgh Steelers fan base and is proud to discuss this fun fact!
