Makenna McCoy is a Policy Coordinator at Independent Women’s Voice. She graduated from The King’s College in New York City, where she studied Politics, Philosophy, and Economics with a minor in American Constitutionalism.

In addition to her studies, she was a faculty assistant in the Economics and History departments, co-chair of the American Enterprise Institute’s Executive Council, vice president of The King’s College Students for Life club, and a fellow for the Hertog Foundation’s Political Studies Program. She also interned at Avail NYC, the Heritage Foundation, and the North Carolina Family Policy Council and researched for American Philanthropic.

Makenna is originally from Greenville, North Carolina and is the oldest of three children. She is passionate about crafting policy that leads to human flourishing and the thriving of civil society.
