McKenzie Holmes is the Operations & Editorial Manager for the Communications Department of Independent Women’s Voice. She graduated summa cum laude from Galveston College with her A.A. in political science before traveling to Germany to study with the University of the Nations. While in college, McKenzie danced with the Galveston Ballet and led worship with the Galveston House of Prayer. With UofN, she served in the Netherlands and South Asia, maintaining a travel blog throughout her time overseas, and graduated from her Discipleship Training School in March 2020. Since then, she completed the Congressional Fellowship with Running Start and the Policy Circle’s Civic Leadership Engagement Roadmap (CLER) program. She is also an Academy Fellow with the Heritage Foundation.
When she is not working, McKenzie bakes sourdough and teaches ballet and couples dance to children and adults alike. She is also dutifully training her high-energy sheepadoodle, Willoughby, who keeps her on her toes. In her spare time (which is seldom), McKenzie enjoys two-step and swing dancing, reading, knitting, and songwriting.
Her dream is to move back to Germany and live in a castle again.
