I’d have to say my story really starts a few months pre-pandemic. [Chicago Public Schools] went on strike for 3 weeks about a month after my daughter’s 1st year, kindergarten. Then just months after returning again pandemic…

We had no device at first. Then after that hurdle, it was a password issue. That NEVER got solved. I [was] employed at the time as a lunch lady at a school as well. We’re told in March [that] schools were closing. Move forward 2nd year in pandemic finally [accepted] on unemployment. Was able to buy a desktop computer. This year, teacher[s] and by now school had more of a handle on things. Now that year wasn’t bad, but [my daughter’s] first year remains empty. She had about 3 month[s] total of kindergarten. Which by all means is the platform for the rest of her education…but yet it was never given. She’s in 2nd grade now, back on online learning and still [doesn’t] know how to read…struggling in math and expressing this with my daughter’s teacher, she was still left out of after-school help. Her grades went from A to C no teacher phone call no extra help I can’t afford a tutor. And honestly, this is a[n] issue that was … because of online learning/not having it for the first year of school then pushed onto 1st [and] now 2nd grade.
