My three youngest are high school seniors. They began on a fully remote plan, then went to hybrid, 2 in-person days, 2 online days and Friday off. Honestly remote was better because class met virtually 4 days per week vs. 2. There is no instruction with hybrid when they are not there, they have to be extremely motivated to learn anything. They are taking AP classes and I don’t know how they will have the knowledge to take the exams, which we had to pay for last fall. The teachers are really taking a vacation, I listen to the zoom meetings, “work on the packet”, no lecture etc. I understand now the math deficits in our district, and the large gap between the honors students and regular classes, it’s parental involvement. We are in a suburban, fairly affluent, well funded district.
