I taught in a parochial school in a bad section of Queens and saw how much better the minority kids did in the parochial schools…..they achieved set goals in an orderly school setting and showed great growth in self-esteem and academic subjects…..they HAD A CHOICE due to belonging to that Church and getting scholarships through the congregation…all children should be given a choice to go to the best schools available and not be stuck with the local public school !!!!!
